I've just been thinking of the endings in movies, tv, and books that have really disappointed me. Or was never conclusive. Are there any that you hated?
1. Xena getting killed in Japan. I didn't see that one because I heard it was pretty violent and I admired Xena since I'm such a Gabrielle character.
2. The series finale of Angel..How do we know if any of them survived? One would hope so. Angel was a hottie.
3. Enterprise..Tripp dieing was too sad and Archer's departure was kinda bland. They could have come up with some more stories for these guys. Despite what y'all may think of the other Trek shows, I like all tv shows that deal with Trek, so I'm mentioning one more.
4. Deep Space Nine..a great show with a boring ending. Cisco goes with the wormhole aliens..blah...anticlimatic.
5. X-Files..When are they going to keep on fighting the good fight? I've heard rumors, but when? Is that all?
And I really shouldn't count the Harry Potter book that's coming out, but I'm afraid of not liking it if two of the main characters bite the dust. Waah! |

WARNING! Here there might be spoilers!
The Xena ending wasn't really bad. Yes, she died, but she died because it was the only way to free thousands of trapped and tortured souls. In the end she did the ultimate redemption, giving her life to free others. Plus her soul went on traveling with Gabrielle.
The ending of Hercules sucked though. They "retire" for all of five seconds, then get up and walk off into the sunset.
Thelma and Louise was an all around bad movie, made worse by a cheat of an ending.
Plus countless of great shows canceled by some putz in favor of crap despite great ratings that never got an ending at all. I NEED CLOSURE FOR AMERICAN GOTHIC, DANG IT! |

| I thought the ending of the current Harry Potter movie really sucked! If you've seen it, you know what I mean. I don't want to divulge any movie info and spoil it for those who haven't watched it. |

I NEED CLOSURE FOR AMERICAN GOTHIC, DANG IT! | I appreciate you telling me about Xena. They show it on cable now, so I was never able to see the end and I don't have cable. I didn't like the ending to Hercules, too. I also remember American Gothic, but I didn't watch it. I missed out on the ending if there was one to Stephen King's Golden Years. And I wanted to see the endings of the tv shows Mortal Combat, The Crow, and that chick with the sword played by Yancy Butler. Can't remember the name of that one. And the tv show Prey about the cromagnons that had evolved along homo sapiens and were our mortal enemies. Those were ones that I can't recall that never had a series finale. Just gone. Poof! Oh yeah, that modern Night Stalker show that didn't even follow the origional show's premise. I could go on and on. I haven't seen the new Potter movie. I don't like how the actor portrays Dumbledorf's character. In the book he's a lot more calming and not so frantic a person. Seems like he's too abrasive and scary in the movies. Not the gentle and wise mentor as he is in the books. |

Far as Dumbledor goes, that's what they get for once again hiring someone who did NOT want to play him.
They should've just hired Patrick Stewart from the beginning. He would've done the role much more justice. |

| I can't believe I mispelled "Dumbledor's" name. Was tired. My only excuse. And I agree with you on Patrick Stewart. He would have done the role justice. I've seen him in other works and he puts alot of style and genuine feelings to his roles. There was this one tv movie about him playing this 16th century ghost haunting these two kids. I've forgotten the name of the story, but it was a good performance. |

The ending for 40 year old virgin was completely and utterly stupid.
There was this one movie with Bill Murray in it..I can't remember the name but he was told he had a son in a mysterious letter and goes back to visit his old girlfriends to try and find him..OMG...soooo stupid. I felt ripped off that I actually watched that thing for 2 hours. |

| Oh, I know it's all suppose to have deep meaning and everything, but I hated the end of The Graduate. Boring city. Not to mention that while I can see her running away from a loveless marriage, I don't think any woman in her right mind would run off with the man who slept with her mother. Except in an episode of Jerry Springer. |

| You're right about that one, Jami. How can anyone respect someone who has a fling with a girlfriend's mom? Sick. I'd drop kick a guy who would pull a stunt like that. |

| Not to mention the mom herself was married. I mean, it's disgusting enough that he slept with the mom. Even worse when she's a married woman. Shows he has no respect for monogomy. Yes, she seduced him, but he could've said "No." |

| Yeah, but what young fella is going to say "no"? Not much self-control or scruples at that age. Especially if it's a beautiful and experienced older woman do the asking. I bet a lot of guys would tell you that it would be mighty difficult to say no, if not down-right impossible. Not that I'm making excuses for young fellas. Just a fact of life, unfortunately. |

There's young men that would say "No" though. It might be hard, but they can do it.
Granted, it wouldn't have been the same movie, or a movie at all. Still, to me that's what makes it a POS movie rather then a classic film. Along with the moronic ending. |

Well, guy movies are always going to be that way. Guys will be guys. I guess some guys can say "no", but I always thought that was a myth Movies of that generation are more about the free love of that time. That theme is always prevalent during the 60's and 70's. It was just a whole different way of feeling. But I guess times haven't changed all that much, because you still see that kind of behavior in the movies of this generation. Money isn't what makes the world go 'round. It's sex. Helen of Troy started a war. Young people can do foolish things. Youth is wasted on the young, yada yada. I'm full of euphamisms today |

I've been enjoying HP and really enjoyed OOTP. I've always enjoyed the cast they've got behind it! Wow!
As far as X-Files goes, there's been some legal issues to deal with, and that's part of the reason it's been taking so long. They're rolling again, though, from what I hear. |
