| For our first dance? Jess and I can't agree on one (I only offered one and she doesn't like it!) so I'm hoping to get some ideas. |

| If you mean style of dance, there is nothing in the world more romantic than a good old fashioned waltz. None of the rock n roll heebee jeebee stuff. That can come later, but a waltz for the first dance would get my vote. |

Need more info - are you 8 or 80?
Are you into Country? Rock? Jazz? Hip-Hop?
One size definite will not fit all! |

I don't suppose you have watched the sitcom "Everybody Loves Raymond"? The wedding dance scene was great. They basically played a rock song, and went wild.
Actually, that would be kind of fun, if the people invited are reasonably light hearted.
My mind is blank on particular songs, but are there any songs that you have happened to hear during a special occasion in your relationship? I don't think you have to play a "traditional" wedding type song, just anything that has meaning to the two of you.
Oh, I love your new sig....... |

Congrats to the both of you on your challenges and adventure through life together!
Me and my better half had chosen this one:
CD = "STING/NOTHING LIKE THE SUN"
Sample
The Secret Marriage Lyrics
Artist:Sting
No earthly church has ever blessed our union
No state has ever granted us permission
No family bond has ever made us two
No company has ever earned commission
No debt was paid no dowry to be gained
No treaty over border land or power
No semblance of the world outside remained
To stain the beauty of this nuptial hour
The secret marriage vow is never spoken
The secret marriage can never be broken
No flowers on the altar
No white veil in your hair
No maiden dress to alter
No bible oath to swear
The secret marriage vow is never spoken
The secret marriage can never be broken |

Duh! Your first wedding dance! – Ok, now I understand. Doc has a nice one and here’s a great list of several hundred popular first wedding dances, most can be sampled.
http://www.nycityweddings.com/planning/wedding_songs/?Display=FirstDance&P=1
You can look them over with your fiancée and try them out.
If you’re just a little nuts and want to scream out your love - There’s: Maybe I'm Amazed by Paul McCartney.
Ok, A very unorthodox song, but it’s really just a wicked fast waltz….
Well – I hope the list helps.
Congratulations and Good luck! |

I also was going to sugest the dance that Robert did in Everybody Loves Raymond. That was a real hoot. But I was wondering if you were a traditionalist, too. I didn't do a dance at my wedding, but if I was choosing, I'd do something that started to sound traditional, like a waltz and it segued into a rock tune. Got to keep them guessing |

I'm not that great at giving advice, ...look how quickly I can kill a thread...but I just want you to remember this one story....
THE WEDDING NIGHT
Mike was going to be married to Karen, so his father sat him down for a little chat. He said, "Mike, let me tell you something. On my wedding night in our honeymoon suite I took off my pants, handed them to your mother, and said, 'Here - try these on' She did and said,
'These are too big I can't wear them.' I replied, 'Exactly I wear the
pants in this family and I always will.' Ever since that night we have
never had any problems." "Hmmm," said Mike.He thought that might be a good thing to try.
On his honeymoon, Mike took off his pants and said to Karen, "Here try these on." She tried them on and said, "These are too large. They don't fit me. "Mike said, "Exactly. I wear the pants in this family and I always will. I don't want you to ever forget that."
Then Karen took off her pants and handed them to Mike.
She said, "Here -you try on mine." He did and said, "I can't get into your pants." Karen said, "Exactly. And if you don't change your smart ass attitude, you never will."
And she lived happly ever after. |
