| Hello all. I need some help or information on a request from a retiring Army Colonel. The normal retirement gift is some type of shadow box with memorabilia that sums up 24 year career in the U.S Army.

I am working a retirement ceremony for a Lieutenant Colonel and his request for a retirement gift is an Autographed Picture from "THE" William Shatner. As i understand it. This LTC joined the military from the insperation of William Shatner as Captian Kirk. As a request for a 24 year career and 3 combat tours i was shocked that this is what he wanted to remember his career. He wants an autographed photo from William Shatner saying "LTC (Name) Im glad i could be and insperation to you throughout your career".

So im asking for help to see if this is even possible to accomplish. This forum is the only place i could think to look or ask.

Thanks for your time.

Desperate ArmyGuy
|

I don't know how to help you with that.
Do you think he'd settle for an autographed picture of Jena Fuller? |

If anyone can help you, it would be Paul.
Have you considered having your retiring Army Colonol join the Captain's Club (you can get the details by clicking on "Fan Club" on the left menu panel. The Hollywood Charity Horse Show happens every April and during that same weekend, providing Mr. Shatner approves, there is what is called the WSW (William Shatner Weekend). If you go, you can get a photo taken with Mr. Shatner and one of his horses. The photos are usually autographed. You can also bring something from home to have autographed.
There is also another possiblity, if you are willing to spend some money. Visit the LiveAutographs at: http://www.liveautographs.com/p-72-will ... -item.aspx
Now, granted, the video does cost some money, but if you are serious about a once in a lifetime gift, this would be well worth the money. (I would have one done myself, but right now, I am busy trying to get enough money together to sponsor a horse for the Ahead with Horses project.)
My sister and her husband are both retired from the Army. Give my thanks to the Lieutenant Colonel for his service to our country. |

Unfortunately there is no personalization that can be done on autographed photos and items in the store. No exceptions. I'm sorry.
LiveAutographs is a personalized video message - you tell Bill what you want him to say (within reason). It is NOT a personalized signature service. |
