Oscar winner Michael Moore is to release his latest documentary free of charge on the internet. Slacker Uprising will be available as a download to North American viewers for three weeks from 23 September.
Moore, who courted controversy with films like Farenheit 9/11, said the move was to mark his 20 years in film. The new documentary follows Moore's tour across the US during the 2004 presidential campaign as he attempted to persuade young people to vote.

Great.
The despicable hack is back. He did more harm than good during the last election (for his own cause, I mean).
He's yesterday's news. I suppose a free "documentary" is a logical step since a theatrical release probably wouldn't garner near the revenue and attention that his other works did. |

| He's a voice in the wilderness, his cause is more popular now but there was a time when his was the only voice raised against the insanity. |

I have to say i did get the point, and saw what he was doing with 'Bowling For Columbine' and 'Sicko', which i think are two of his best works. where he was bringing tough social topics, and real problems many people face, to the attention of the wider public, and maybe try and shame those in positions of power and responsibility into action.
In these two documentaries ,he concentrated on the victims, and those who 'slip through the net' of social care. That is when it gets people thinking, and maybe, gets people, out of their arm chairs to make a difference and do something to help to get things changed.Thats what film making/social comment at it's best does. |

I'm sure I will watch this film... but I'm very likely to dislike it for the biased political view that it represents.
Michael Moore has a talent for skewing the facts to fit his version of the facts. |

Good for Moore, who so readily and consistently exposes an ugly mindset within American "freedom of speech."

Hmmm... I remember meeting a person who was part of the group that put out "The NEW Clinton Chronicles"- back during Clinton's first term in office.
The man said he despised Clinton- and at the same time said (QUOTE) "if George W. Bush ever gets to the presidency, GOD HELP THIS COUNTRY!!!"
Parts of that video were discredited, but at the same time- expressing fear- even terror, about GW Bush? Years before he ever ran for office??? (I think he knew something we didn't!)
I was conservative then- but after experiencing the truth of this country (racism, "get a job or drop dead" to disabled people, etc), I started to question what my preachers, priests, and "friends" said. Then after learning the truth in school - and getting it from source documents: I changed my mind completely.
I now know I'd been brainwashed. I'm still eliminating aspects of that brainwashing on a regular basis. Many of those "friends" turned on us when we started breaking free- and are no longer friends. We now walk in different (and in many ways far more educated and knowledgeable) circles.
I may disagree with Michael Moore on some things (gun control, for instance), but I am glad he's there to expose the ugly reality for a lot of people in this country- a good part of which I've experienced firsthand.
Oh, yeah- I don't consider the Clintons and Bush to be that far apart in some aspects- for instance, all three are neoliberals! |

Um, sorry Greenie, but Michael Moron is a big, fat LIAR. 99.9% of the stuff he says is MADE UP or facts are TWISTED to his point of view. You can't trust him anymore then you can trust Rush Limbaugh. Neither of them would know the truth if it bit them on their oversized behinds.
Fact is, those two are two sides of the same lying coin.
People should stop listening to them and start learning to do research for themselves so they could figure out the truth. But that's the problem with this world, they want others to do the thinking for them. And too many are all too willing to let greedy, money hungry liars like Moron and Liebaugh do the thinking for them.
It's time people woke up, but I'm not holding out any hope on that front. |
