The recent installment was fine, it brought things somewhat up todays technology, but not really beyond as to the future of tomorrow.. Very disappointed in the engine room Willie Wanka seen, people in pipes been done. Looked engineering like a factory than a ship, Beyond this ok flick, alternate time line, just about every scifi franchise has played with this... What is missing is with this younger crew, is the youth and optimism which was presented weekly under Gene Roddenberry, and the hip / cool original cast of the 1960's. TOS dealt with some real hard issues of that decade, and these presented issues in a context which one would see hope and promise of a brighter tomorrow... lets see if they will stay true to Roddenberry's vision, and the incredible characters which these gifted actors developed over decades...
